Intermittent Care

All our products are waterproofed during the manufacturing process, which means the surface is sealed and therefore easier to be cleaned from stains like oil, fat, etc. After some time, the effect of this protection ceases, which won’t let water droplets pearl off the surface anymore. In this case it is recommended to reapply the waterproofing to enusre the best protection possible for the material. Appropriate products can be found in selected stores.

Before starting with the waterproofing process, the surface of the granite plate needs to be completely clean and dry.

Especially polished granite can be scratched quite easily if dirty. Therefore you should always wipe down the granite surface with a wet soft towel after it is used. Additionally, you can also add a little bit of special cleaning agent for natural stones whose contained oils are supplementary nurishments for the stone. Afterwards rub it down with a soft cloth because unsightly stains might emerge otherwise from dust on the wet granite plate. You can remove persistent dirt like chewing gum with freezing spray.
